Promoting Peer engagement through Sports

Sports are known for their competitiveness and the results being Win/Lose. We have seen the flip side of sports! Sports among young people within the same community promotes contact-engagement which is critical if young people are to jointly tackle everyday life challenges. The picture below shows young people in Mbare at Stodart playing basket ball. The equipment was sourced through the Civil Peace Program under GiZ Zimbabwe in 2010 and this has created synergies among young people at community and at inter-community level. The Social Service department under City of Harare provided the space while Pacesetters Youth Network and ZACRO a rehabilitation based organization mobilizes resources for outreach related programmes.Stodart Basketball1.jpg
